Over the years I have been watching anime, there have been times when I end up disappointed to see certain characters suffer a permanent demise as I wished they could live on throughout the rest of the sagas. "Space Battleship Yamato" featured several chararcters I wished did not have to die permenantly:
What about you, the fans? Are there any "Space Battleship Yamato" characters in mind you wished had more years to live instead of having to kick the bucket for good? Comments are welcome. Remember, we're talking about character deaths in the main "Space Battleship Yamato" continuity, which does not include "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: In The Name of Love".
- Sasha Kodai (the poor cute child died too soon at a young age and should not have stayed behind on Dezarium when Yamato was about to fire at it)
- Starsha (she was a kind-hearted queen who should have stayed with Yamato and her family when Isacandar was being attacked by the Dark Nebula Empire)
- Daisuke Shima (he was a good friend to Susumu Kodai and one heck of a navigator who would have more adventures if not for those Denguilians who wronged him)
- Ryu Hijikata (he commanded one awesome battleship that would have helped Yamato in the final showdon against Zwordar)
- Maho Orihara (I was hoiping to see more of this beautiful gal in action in the sequels to "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection", but her demise now makes it impossible)
- Ryusuke Domon (he was finally bettering himself as a member of the Yamato crew and could have more years of adventures serving Susumu Kodai if he didn't get blasted to death during the Yamato's shoot-the-sun mission in the last episode of "Space Battleship Yamato III")
